Run Into My Arms

From the day
You took hold
Of my hands
Nothing has been the same.

You turned my world
Topsy-turvy – But
Hauled me with you
To a new place.

Though time flew past
You signed every stage
For me to remember
During my old age.

If only I know
Your course in life
I’ll clear the path
To give you a smooth ride.

But the future my son
Is what you make
Seize from me
All you want to take.

I keep my fingers open
For you to walk away
I’ll keep my fingers open
For yours to interlace yet again.

Run into my arms
I’ll hug you to ease the pain
Run into my arms
Let’s fall and laugh wild
Run into my arms
Every time you make me proud
Run into my arms
Anytime you remember me.
