Folly n Shelly
Folly and Shelly live together in a beautiful fish bowl. It is smaller than their previous fish tank. The older one was a big rectangular aquarium. It had a lot of room to swim day and night. There was a bubble blower which blew bubbly bubbles at regular intervals. In this bowl Folly and Shelly have to blow their own bubbles to see any.
Folly is golden colored and Shelly is silvery. They are both of the same size and length. Folly somehow dominates Shelly in spite of it. They have never met each other before until now. They lived in two different aquariums with their own friends until one night……
Folly sensed some kind of displacement. Peeping through the plastic sheet it seemed far from friends. To add to the confusion there was then this silvery fish dropped in next. They tried to keep off each other though there was very little place.
In a little while there was another fall. This time it was a nice spherical bowl. They stood still at different corners stuck to the sides. Everything was new. After a while Folly swam around searching for the lost friends. How many times to go in circles?!! Lost its mind? It looked never ending and took time to realize who got lost. Silvery stayed quiet, looking deserted and scared.
Folly recovered first and responded to food. Silvery stayed behind. Did it lose someone special? May be a good friend or family. It’s a story I’ll never know. Do you feel so different? Even not as same as the only companion with you?
I never liked seeing fish in a bowl. It somehow feels so contained there with no freedom. I wish my son loses his interest to have pet fish.
In a swish if I get my wish, you’ll be free, little fish.
