A Day
It's when a day dawns
That all the lethargy settles in
To curl up underneath
The warmth and softness
Offered by my quilt.
Eyes peek open half heartedly
To look at the numbers
Displayed on my mobile
Just at my hand's reach
Why struggle to look at the wall clock?
Sometimes it's just the right time
To jump out of bed
And go ahead
Sometimes I get a grace time
To stretch the sleep
Like I'll never again sleep.
Whatever it is, the time comes
When I instantly pop out
The then cold water splash
Makes me fresh
Promptly when the day unfurls.
Once on my feet
I never tuck them in
I love the speed
And the whirls I get in.
Later when the nightingale sings
At sundown
I retire within
Calm and satisfied
With the day there in.
