Bad Company
Groping in the dark
I assumed we were on track
Did my eyes adapt quickly
Or did the moon shine brighter?
A while later, paths were dimly lit
Making the trail look different altogether.
It's been a long time
Since I have been out in the moonlight
Everything just seemed perfect and right.
I forgot that I had had some realisations earlier-
A late realisation.
Only after the blisters
That repeatedly burnt my skin
I understood the kind of company I chose
And wondered if I really fit in.
Though I had an option to drop out
I decided to stay on
Only because, I wanted to stay on.
After the initial bouts of gasping
I settled down to a rhythm,
Amazing the beat went
And I guess I expected that prelim.
With no practise
It was to be a mayhem.
Still and all
The golden grasses that shone under the setting sun
Spread across like a thick mane
From the crest of the lion,
The never ending trails that wound like a snake
Had a calmness untold,
The steeps were a high climb
While the coming down was evidently fun,
The run was as expected long
But it turned out to be fun all along.
I never regretted my decision to run
Once I reached the finish line
Doesn't matter come get corrupted
Run and Become.
