Sleep

Silent noises,
Invisible commotions,
Bright darkness,
Awakening sleep
Serene confusion,
Clear doubts,
Haunting hopes,
Unending full stops,
Then it happened.

A gentle kiss on the forehead.
Warmth that it spread
Gave silence in darkness
Arrest of murkiness
Wasn't sure if it was
An awakening of the mind
Or a dulling of the conscious
What mattered was a serene sleep.
