Darkness and Fire

Darkness and Fire
Don't need each other, do they?
Darkness is quiet, confident and expansive
It is nothing
It is everything.
It takes fire unto itself
Allowing it to paint the blackness
Giving it a purpose.
Fire is warm, eager and enveloping
It is light
It is life.
It brings in view the truth
That the darkness beholds
And ignites life in silence.
Needless to say
Darkness and Fire coexist
Latter inside the former
Each still having its own form.
