Elemental Nature

Elements of different nature
Are they - fire and water?
Elements of opposite nature
Is more like it
In their extremities
One puts off the other
Dousing the rigour
One immaterializes the other
Vapourizing the shower
Unless they are well apart
To stay preserved and selfsame.

What happens
If glowing fire fancies
To take a dip
In gushing water.
It shouldn't for all logical reasons
Which is sparkling clear.
Nevertheless when it does
It's a different story altogether
An elemental change
As water engulfs the brazen fire
To steam away
Into grey fumes
While fire surrenders
To be no more
Than a vanishing hot sizzle. 

Destructive and thus reduced
Into nothingness
Or
Mercurial and thus mutually lost
In oneness
With a new form
Embodying the two
Depends on how it's viewed
If need be.
